I am relieved that Peter did not break any bones, especially his legs, because he is the guy who keeps us moving, just trying to catch up to him. He knows also that this is harvest season at the club and we all want to see our customers happy and coming back for more. So, if it’s not broken, we won’t fix it, but if it is broken, we try to fix it and make it “all good”. But if it isn’t broken, we might break it – if you don’t behave that is! After all, Peter invented the “f” word, friendly, fast, fun, family, friends, fabulous, ....and well....just “f” funny. He is a “force” in himself and we are grateful he did not break a leg this year. I hope someone doesn’t accidentally push him off a horse. He hasn’t been seen on the roof lately, but everyone thinks about jumping sometimes...don’t we? Did someone say Harvest? Mother nature is so very marvelous? Did she, or did she not invent Viagra? Zucchini for instance - you can watch it grow overnight; can often be very large, and if you get too much of it you eventually don’t know what to do with it; and you possibly want to get rid of it, but nobody else really wants it. I was recently out at the farm; and bigger isn’t always better. What about beets? I prefer the smaller ones. Mother nature knows what she is doing. If we did not have farmers or bees we would not have much food. What would we do without mother nature and the gifts we share? The Danish people know all too well about food and what it gives them. Many Danes were farmers and have come from family farmers. They are also tradesman. They are ingenious, and some think they are genius. Watching the Danish 'boys' at their farm is something to behold. Thanks to Inge they have built a haven for all they love. They invent, build, farm and have fun. A few 'F' words, and it’s all good. They invite friends (if you’re lucky) and family and have given me the opportunity to join in with my honey bees. Tak. The soul of the Danish club comes from some of these people of the earth. The Danes are the salt of it; generous, caring kind souls. During the past 10 years ; (I can’t believe it either) I have learned a little about these Danes. I can’t believe I have been at the club this long.....? I go, come back, and I can’t escape, but we all know I have to keep trying! At this time of harvest, farming and mother nature often give us more than we could ever bee thankful for. An abundance of life and the many rewards of hard work. Food and time shared with family and friends. Digging in the dirt is good for the soul, did you know? So, here is to you– all of you who are farmers, harvesters, lovers of food, family and friends. Everyone is welcome at the Danish Club to eat and enjoy our 'F' words. Continued .... Next Chapter Coming Soon !! |
