One of my favourite things to talk about are Birthdays ! It’s Eva’s. I started to celebrate her birthday a back in the beginning of March with a beautiful mix of flowers for her desk. Eva should always have fresh flowers on her desk. Of course she also loves dark chocolate, beer and wine. “Are you getting the hint”? Yes, Eva had a “significant” birthday last month. What do you think that means? “Yes, she is 40 something.” Her sister Annie came from Denmark and her daughter Denise from Nova Scotia. I am sure Pete sent his dance and song via webcam. Now that she is your Mother-In-Law Pete, you should probably keep your clothes on. Eva, what can we say? I am not going to speak for the staff or customers, and so I encourage everyone to send an email or drop off big bags of money on her desk. I just want to say a few words; as anyone who knows me knows I will; given the chance. I met Eva 10 years ago when I walked into the Danish Canadian Club in Calgary to apply for a job. I knew I would only work a couple of months until I got a ‘real job’. Eva is one of the reasons I have not left for good, so you can blame her. She has always kindly supported me on both a personal and professional level. Eva is my friend, as she is to so many of you who read this. We all know how special she is. Eva is kind, funny, patient, honest and just beautiful to look at. She is a rock for Peter, and that is what Mothers do for their children. Eva has three beautiful daughters, and she seems to get younger as they get older. She is a wonderful mother; as she sometimes reminds me of mine. I cannot tell you what Eva has given to me over the years. I will say that she is one of those people you are blessed to have in your life. So cheers to Eva, on her very special birthday. May you have more love, laughter and Money in your life as you age so gracefully and beautifully. Have an amazing spring, and a healthy happy year ahead from all of us who love you at the Danish Club.
